  WebPort2000 is a 32-bit microprocessor system with multiple serial ports to run an embedded Linux operating system, which has an Ethernet interface, six, ten or twelve RS232 serial ports and an internal IDE hardware interface. The associated embedded Linux development software kit containing an embedded Linux kernel and application source codes as well as compiling tools is also equipped, which supports protocols as TCP/IP, PPP, SLIP and applications such as Telnet, embedded Web Server, IP Chains firewall and VPN. Whether a computer supporting TCP/IP, PPP protocols or a 8-bit single chip computer with RS232 serial port, can implement an easy connection and communication with the Internet by means of WebPort2008. The embedded Web Server makes it possible for users to collect their desired information and have control of each device over Internet by using a browser. Besides, we provide all source codes for an operating system as well as an application, making the utilization of this device extremely flexible. For users can perform the communication between each communication ports, data collection, storage and retransmission of their own free will. In other words, WHN WebPort2008 can make the connection between any device with RS232 interface and the Internet available in your desired way.
